Last weekend, the Southern Bavarian Youth Indoor Championships took place in Oberhaching. Several children and young people from our club also took part and were able to impress with strong performances and great commitment.
The tournament was particularly successful for Marco Ontiveros in the U18 age group. With consistently good performances, he played his way through to the final. There he faced the number 1 seed Lovis Bertermann. In an intense and high-class match, Marco was ultimately defeated 6:7 and 3:6. Nevertheless, second place is an excellent result and is also underpinned by his nomination for the 2026 DTB national squad. This is clear evidence of his continuous development and his great talent.
Our club was also represented in the girls’ U10 competition. Martha Kohlmann played a very good tournament and reached the semi-finals. There she was only narrowly defeated by the eventual winner Yelmanova. Martha then showed great fighting spirit in the match for third place and deservedly secured third place with a 4:2 and 4:2 win.
We would like to congratulate Marco and Martha on their successes and are delighted with the strong performance of our youngsters in Oberhaching.
